Publicis Russia enhances its operational leadership

Moscow, Sept. 23 – Dennis DeYonker has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of Publicis Russia, a new position within the agency.

dennis-deyonkerThe introduction of this new position and appointment of specialist talent is a part of the aggressive short-term growth plan for the agency. “We need to transform our operating system to meet the pace of development in our business. Our paramount objectives are: optimizing the agency structure, improving our approach to client engagement, and building a clear system for product quality control,” – says Sergey Koptev, Chairman and CEO Publicis Russia.

Dennis has more than twenty years experience in the communications business. He began his career in DMB&B Moscow as an Account Manager for Procter & Gamble, Mars and Philips and supported the development of localized launch strategies for key brands in Russia. From 1998 to 2002 Dennis worked in Frankfurt, Paris and London offices within the D’Arcy network. He then joined GSK as a Marketing Director on Macleans, Poligrip and Aquafresh brands and eventually went on to lead the global brand communications team. Most recently, he was Worldwide Managing Director of the HTC business based in Taiwan.

According to Sergey, delegation of operational duties would allow him to focus more on strategic issues such as management of transformation processes, business development and the introduction of new communication disciplines.


Paulo Giovanni Named Chairman of Publicis Worldwide Brazil 

Publicis Worldwide is announcing the appointment of Paulo Giovanni as Chairman of Publicis Worldwide in Brazil. Paulo will work directly with Arthur Sadoun, CEO of Publicis Worldwide.

Paulo’s new responsibility within the Publicis Groupe in Brazil, comes in addition to his current role as CEO of Leo Burnett Tailor Made.

Publicis Groupe invites Tencent to share the stage at 61st annual Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity

This year, at the 61st annual Cannes Lions International Festival, Publicis Groupe’s seminar will bring together SY Lau, President of Online Media Group of Tencent and Senior Executive VP of Tencent Holdings, and Maurice Lévy, Chairman and CEO of Publicis Groupe. The seminar will take place June 20, 2014 at 2:15 PM in the Grand Auditorium at the Palais des Festivals.
During the seminar titled “The Real Awakening of China,” Lau and Lévy will discuss China’s digital innovations and the rise of the world’s second largest consumption-driven economy.
With more smart phone and Internet users than any other country in the world and a booming digital eco-system, China is leading a digital revolution whose waves are being felt all around the world.

Publicis Worldwide announces the appointment of Axel Dauchez as Chief Executive Officer in France.

He will be reporting to Arthur Sadoun, CEO of Publicis Worldwide. His appointment will be effective as of September 2014.

Dauchez is currently CEO of Deezer, one of the leading companies in digital music distribution.For 20 years, he managed the digital transformation of media and FMCG companies.

In particular, in 1995, he launched the first paid online services for one of the leading video game companies (Coktel-Sierra). In 1998, he was CEO of the first French digital agency, BDDP and Tequila Interactive, and headed MoonScoop, leader in the production of animated films. He joined Deezer in 2010.

In his new role, Dauchez will oversee Publicis Worldwide’s operations in France including: Publicis Conseil, Publicis Dialog, Publicis Modem, Publicis Shopper, Publicis ETO, Diplomatic Cover, Publicis Activ France (Bordeaux, Brest, Lille, Lyon, Marseille, Nantes, Nancy, Paris, Strasbourg), Carré Noir, Marcel, Publicis EtNous and Loeb & Associés.

About Axel Dauchez

Axel started in marketing at Procter & Gamble and led businesses digital movements in Media and FMCG for nearly 20 years. 

In 1995, he joined the marketing department of Coktel-Sierra (one of the leading video game companies) where he launched the first paid online services. He, then became the President of the first French digital agency BDDP and Tequila Interactive from 1998 to 2001, where he managed, among other clients France Telecom, Microsoft, Renault, Warner Music and BNP Paribas and was CEO of MoonScoop, leader in the audiovisual production of animated films. In early 2010, Axel Dauchez became CEO of Deezer and transformed the company in 4 years to world leader in the digital distribution of music, with more than 5M subscribers in over 180 countries and structured partnerships including Orange, Deutsche Telekom, Facebook and Samsung. He then contributed significantly to the restructuring of the global music market after its digital transformation. Publicis Worldwide appoints Guy Wieynk to Chief Executive Officer of UK Group and Nordics

Publicis Worldwide announces the appointment of Guy Wieynk to Chief Executive Officer of UK Group and Nordics. Wieynk will report to Arthur Sadoun, CEO of Publicis Worldwide.

Wieynk will be based in London and will oversee Publicis UK’s operations including: Publicis London, POKE, Publicis Chemistry and Publicis Blueprint; as well as Publicis Nordics’
operations including: Finland’s Skaandali Publicis, Publicis Norway’s Kitchen and Publicis Denmark’s Reputation. Wieynk will be a member of the Publicis Worldwide Global
Management Board, chaired by Arthur Sadoun.

After 16 years focused on building AKQA globally, Wieynk is recognized worldwide as a leading light in the digital industry. In his final role as International Vice President, Wieynk presided over offices across Europe, Asia and North America. He originally joined AKQA London in 1998 and was promoted to manage the New York office, followed by Europe, and finally International in 2012. During this six-year period the International group trebled in revenue; opened five offices; and won over 300 major awards, including 18 ‘Agency of the year’ titles by the London office alone. Wieynk has consistently demonstrated business and marketing acumen for agencies and clients, having worked with some of the world’s greatest brands including: Coca-Cola, EDF, Heineken, Microsoft, MINI, Nike, Nissan, and VW.

Publicis Promotes Ajay Vikram to Regional CCO, South East Asia

SINGAPORE – Ajay Vikram, current CCO of Publicis Singapore has been promoted to Regional CCO of Publicis South East Asia effective immediately. Reporting to Dean Bramham, regional CEO at Publicis SEA, Vikram’s role will span overall creative stewardship across the agencies seven offices in six markets, as well as Asia Pacific responsibilities for several clients, including Proctor and Gamble. Ajay was most recently responsible for the Publicis Singapore creative transformation at this years’ Cannes awards with Gold, Silver and nine shortlists.


 Dean Bramham, regional CEO at Publicis SEA, said “Ajay is one of those rare creative talents who have balance creativity, leadership and strategic thinking in equal measure. We have big ambitions for the network over the coming 36 months with primary focus on creative output, digital and shopper growth and our global ‘Lead the Change’ strategic point of view. Joe Pollard, CEO of Publicis Mojo Australia announced today the appointment of Grant Rutherford to the position of National Executive Creative Director.

Grant’s 20+ year career has seen him work across many creative Australian agencies including Y&R, George Patterson Y&R and Clemenger BBDO. More recently from 2008-2012, Grant was Executive Creative Director of DDB Group Melbourne.

Grant’s personal work has been acknowledged with over 150 international and national awards, including seven Cannes Lions, Gold’s at One Show, New York Festivals, Clio, London Internationals, Mobius, AdFest, Spikes, AWARD and Silver nominations at the prestigious D&AD awards. His work as ECD has a similar record.

His work includes Carlton Draught’s ‘Made from Beer’ campaign including ‘Big Ad’, which has been one of the most awarded campaigns in Australian advertising history. He has also been included in the top 10 art directors in the world in the Gunn Report.

Closer to home, Grant has been acknowledged with the prestigious ‘Creative Leader of the Year’ title at the Melbourne Advertising and Design Club for creative contribution to the industry. Grant’s work has been included in the permanent collection at the MoMA in New York and the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney.

Grant has served on a number of marketing peak bodies: The Communications Council, the Australasian Writers and Art Directors Club (AWARD) and the Melbourne Advertising and Design Club (MADC). In 2010 he co-founded the Snowdome Foundation in memory of his daughter who died of Leukaemia, on which he has been working exclusively over the past year.

In making the announcement, Pollard said, “We are absolutely thrilled that Grant will be joining Publicis Mojo. He is an amazing creative talent, and all round great guy. I can’t wait to partner with him and continue the forward momentum of Mojo. His leadership, outstanding creative skills and passion for communication will be a great asset for our clients’ brands and businesses”.
