Razvan Capanescu, Chief Creative Officer Publicis Bucharest, has been invited to join the Golden Drum’s Single Channel Jury, alongside eleven leading creative directors drawn from the CEE and beyond. This year the jury will be chaired by Stefan Schmidt, Creative At Large Europe and Chief Creative Officer TBWAGermany.
The jury will judge entries from eight single channel groups including film, press, outdoor, radio, direct communication, corporate and brand marketing, digital and new/innovative communication.The Golden Drum celebrates the bravest and best creative from New Europe during a four day festival held in Portoroz. The theme for 2011 is “New Europe. New Thinking” Razvan Capanescu was appointed Chief Creative Officer Publicis Bucharest in 2006 and has led the agency’s growing creative reputation with a succession of awards including the agency’s first ever Golden Drum, first ever Epica, first Cannes Lions finalist. Under his creative leadership, Publicis Bucharest has landed Romania’s first Intercontinental Advertising Cup. Comments Razvan, “I believe that awards should be the consequence of great work, not an objective per se. Our focus has been to deliver smart thinking for smart brands – rather than building a reputation for creative created purely for award shows. And thanks to terrific collaboration between the agency and our clients we have been landing awards for the likes of Renault, Bitdefender and HP.” He is a member of the Romanian Art Directors Club and has represented the market at international festivals including Eurobest and the New York Festivals.
During the past four years, Publicis Romania has recorded 57 awards and finalists at local and international advertising festivals such as Ad’Or, AdPrint, AdSpotAward, Effie, Epica, Eurobest, Cresta, Golden Drum, Golden Hammer, Internetics, New York Festivals, Cannes International Creative Festival. Recent wins include two Bronzes at the New York Festivals, Epica Bronze,two Silver Effies, three ADOR trophies (Romanian Advertising Festival).
